In modern days the demand for automotive is consistantly increasing, and differnt high-quality functions are being applied on cars.
In accordance with this trend, high-speed and high-capacity network communication technology for automotive is drawing attention in
preparation for self-driving cars coming after 2020.
Currently, different car manufacturers are planning to apply the Ethernet standard which was developed in 1973 and widely used for
wired/wireless communication Automotive Ethernet is a network communication technology which can be used to apply in-vehicle features
of wider bandwidth that networks such as CAN, LIN and FlexRay cannot provide. Automotive Ethernet can also help to reduce costs, weight
and increase bandwidth with less cables.
In Korea, HKMC(Hyundai, Kia) is also applying Autmotive Ethernet. It is tested and certified by applying Open Alliance, AVNU, and HKMC
specification.
